±«Óãtv is pleased to announce that Emily Bickerton has been named the district¡¯s new director of Human Resources.
Bickerton began her HR career in public education in 2016. She held different HR roles in Englewood Schools, Jeffco Public Schools, and at HRx, a small HR consulting company, before coming to ±«Óãtv in 2022. She began her new position as director in July; she was previously the assistant director of HR.
¡°Since joining ±«Óãtv, I have been so impressed with the talent we have here¡ª our employees are so collaborative, knowledgeable, and driven,¡± Bickerton said. ¡°I am excited to continue working with this dedicated group of professionals and to continue learning from them every day.¡±
As director of HR, Bickerton will be leading and developing ±«Óãtv¡¯s HR business partners and HR specialists in providing support to our school-based employees and supervisors.
She will also serve as a resource on employment law, manage the district's compensation plan, support district hiring processes, and supervise HR department employees while working to enhance HR practices, streamline processes and create a positive work environment for employees.
±«Óãtv¡¯s Chief Human Resources Officer Erich WonSavage says Bickerton is a proven asset on the HR team.
¡°Having supported our Classified employees and supervisors in her previous role as assistant HR director, I¡¯m proud to see her grow into this director role at ±«Óãtv,¡± he said. ¡°She will be applying her experience in employee relations, process and systems improvement, compensation and employment to help lead us into our future.¡±
Throughout her work, Bickerton is the proudest of projects in which she has developed tools and procedures to ensure a safer and more transparent system for school district employees. She said she wants to continue making ±«Óãtv's HR practices as equitable and clear as possible in her new role.
¡°I will actively work towards creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all employees, fostering a sense of belonging, and ensuring that ±«Óãtv continues to attract and retain the best talent possible for our students,¡± she said.
Outside of work, Bickerton¡¯s hobbies include reading, yoga, traveling and hiking with her husband and their two dogs.
